The problem
Getting usable game art out of an image model is mostly not the model. It is the camera angle, the background a cut-out tool can actually remove, the words that stop it drawing a whole room around your crate — and then cleaning, sizing and colour-matching fifty separate renders until they look like one game.
What it does
Pick a kind — prop, top-down object, building, character, ground tile, icon set, UI frame, 3D prop and more — and say what the thing is. GameAssetStudio decides the camera, the backdrop and the prompt, generates it, removes the backdrop, matches its colours to your game, cuts sheets into icons and sizes it, lets you review it, and exports approved files into your game with an index it can load them by. Every rule it follows was learned making the art for a real game.
Made for: Indie developers making top-down and three-quarter-view 2D games.
How it works
Describe
A kind and a sentence. The prompt rules are checked as you type.
Generate
On Leonardo, Gemini, OpenAI or your own ComfyUI — priced before it is sent.
Clean up
Backdrop removed, tiles made seamless, colours matched, sheets cut — free to re-run.
Review and export
Approve, with an optional Claude check — then into your game, indexed and checked.
Features
- Thirteen asset kinds, each a tested prompt and clean-up recipe

Good to know
Stated plainly, so nobody signs up for the wrong thing.
- It runs on your machine as a local web app, and every step is also a terminal command.
- Image generation uses your own Leonardo, Google, OpenAI or ComfyUI set-up, and those providers bill you. Claude review is optional.
- Built for top-down and three-quarter-view 2D games. Side-on (platformer) art is not a kind yet.
- 3D props need Blender installed.
What you need
- Node.js 20 or newer
- Your own provider keys, or a local ComfyUI
- Blender 4 or 5, for 3D props only
Questions
Does it need a server or an account?
No. It runs on one machine, on localhost, and writes to the folders you choose. No telemetry.
Can I try it without paying for renders?
Yes. A sample project ships with real renders from a finished game to clean up, review and export, and a placeholder renderer runs the whole pipeline with no key.
